I posted on our facebook a few weeks ago that big news was coming. This post is the first of what is to come. We are hiring someone to work in our retail shop. See the job description below if you are interested or know someone that is:
Customer Service Representative/ Shop Mechanic
Detroit-based cycling non-profit seeks motivated and qualified individual to assist in the day-to-day operation of the bicycle retail shop. Duties include customer service and minor bicycle repair. This seasonal position will be part-time beginning in Mid-Arpil, with the possibility of full-time employment in Mid-May. Shop employees will also work with high-school aged Mechanics-in-Training in the retail environment during the months of June, July and August.
The Hub of Detroit is a Cass Corridor-based non-profit organization that provides cycling education and services to the local community, including a free bicycle program for youth as well as coordination with area schools and charitable institutions.
Responsibilities
· Customer service, including repair diagnosis and point-of-sale operation
· Inventory management and stocking
· General shop cleanliness
· Assisting shop manager with incidental operations, including bicycle repair
Position Requirements
Successful candidates will have previous professional experience in the following areas:
· Customer service
· Bicycle repair, including diagnosis
In addition, the following skills and experiences are desirable:
· Professional attitude and teamwork ethic
· Customer communication in a retail environment
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
· Flexible availability
· Hustle

Hey Garrett,
This position is already filled. We do hire younger folks to work in our shop during the summer as part of our Mechanics in Training program. You have to be at least 14 years old to apply though.
Come hang out on Saturdays with us though so we can get to know you.
