We’ve changed the hours of our weekly ride, making it a little later in the day.
In case you haven’t already heard about the youth rides, here’s some information:
That’s right folks, it’s time for our summertime ride club! Have you ever been to Youth Earn A Bike ? Is your new bicycle all fixed up and ready to ride, but now you have all this free time on Saturdays and nobody to ride bikes with? Well, not to worry, because during YEAB we will also be hosting our Youth Ride Club! It starts at 1pm and lasts until 5pm. We ride between one and two hours with a break at a fun destination in the middle, but before each adventure we check out our sweet rides and review all the tips and tricks for safer city cycling. Never been to Youth Earn a Bike, but have a bicycle that’s ready to ride? Well, even if you are completely new to Back Alley Bikes, this is a perfect way to start getting involved!
Here’s what we will need from you:
– Must be between the ages of 10-17 (parents are also welcome to chaperon or just ride along!)
– Parents and youth must sign a waiver/permission slip
– Must be comfortable riding on the street with traffic and obey the rules of the road
– Before the ride, must complete safety training with the group
– The bike you are riding must pass our safety inspection (don’t worry, we can also lend a limited number of bikes for the ride)
– Helmets are required for youth and parents on the ride (we also have some of these on a first come, first served basis)
– Help us pick a new, more awesome name for the club!
You can print out a permission slip here or visit us during Youth Earn a Bike hours. Slips are also available at the Hub during their business hours.
Let’s go ride bikes!
