I’m sorry,
I left the website and didn’t update it for a week. Of course you had your “bikes of the now” update, but what is happening in programming!? I know this is the question you ask every morning when you wake. Your insides yearn for this information.
Well this past week my insides were yearning to ride my bike. I teach folks about bikes all week so I end up with little time to actually ride. So I left with one of my friends and we rode our bikes from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C.
Why does this personal information matter to you? I mean, you want to know about Back Alley Bikes right? Well, my friend and I rode on a path for about 330 miles. That is a pretty big number.
That number is also really close to the number of bikes that have been given to or earned by youth so far this year at Back Alley Bikes. How many bikes have kids gotten so far in 2012? 334 bikes have gone to kids so far this year.
I have to admit that I was on vacation so I wasn’t thinking about the shop at all, but every mile I rode, every mile marker I passed on the trail was one of our youth getting on a bike. Pretty cool huh?

Oh yeah…I should also mention that last year we got out 322 bikes total all year. We already passed that and have 3 months left to go!

In other news, we are selling some welding equipment. We have a welding unit, masks, jackets and other materials. I won’t list everything here, but if you are interested, get in contact with us and I can find out more details for you.

Also, if you are looking for a bike sales or mechanic job, we just got word from Jack’s bike shop in Dearborn. They are hiring. Here is the info we got:
