NOW HIRING! Mechanics in Training!

Hey ya’ll,
So we were hiring in the retail shop a little while back there. We hired this guy named Shayne that some of you may be familiar with.

Anyway, now we are hiring for another position. Our Mechanics in Training program hires high school aged youth (14-17 years old) to work in our Back Alley Bikes space. We train these youth to be mechanics and they help us with our programming. In the past a few really good mechanics have even gotten a few shifts in on the shop floor. It is not unheard of. Hopefully in a few years they will be running this place.

So if you know someone interested in the correct age group, have them send us a resume. It can include any work or volunteer experience. Since the folks are younger, they can also just write about why they want to be in the program if other work experience is not available.

There are multiple positions open and will be paid part-time work. Saturdays will be mandatory with hours during the week as well.

The application deadline is May 23rd at 12pm. Submit printed resumes to the shop or email them to shop@thehubofdetroit.org
