Hey Everyone,
I recently told you about our community partners Fender Bender moving to their own new space.  I also wrote about upcoming workdays they would be having at their space in the Commons at the corner of W Forest and Cass in the old UU church building.  Well, I got an email from Sarah at Fender Bender about those workdays.  Here is what the email said:
I’m sending this email to those of you who have expressed wanting to help or get involved/volunteer with Fender Bender – first of all – THANK YOU!  We have a few workdays in the next two weeks so we can organize our shop at the Commons. Its clean but needs to be put into an presentable fashion that will allow us space to move around and host maybe 20-30 people before an exciting group ride we will take on Nov 18th. We would love your help and participation in both!

The workdays are as follows:
Fri Nov. 11     7-10pm
Sun Nov. 13   2-5pm
Mon Nov. 14  8-10pm
Wed Nov. 16  7-10pm
Feel free to pop-in and lend a hand even for an hour. Bring your favorite motivating music to play – we have a boom box! and we will provide the good convo and some goodies to snack on as well.

The ride on the 18th of this month is in honor of Transgendered Day of Remembrance and to create awareness/love/respect for the LGBTQI community of Detroit and the metro area. There’s a collaboration of groups hosting a candle lit vigil for TDoR at the Central United Methodist Church downtown and a ceremony the next day. Our bike route will take us from Fender Bender’s shop at the commons to the church in time for the vigil. We will have markers, paper and other things to decorate uplifting visual imagery to carry on our ride.  People can meet at our shop 4:30p for refreshments, then we ride 6pm to arrive at the church by 6:30. Join us!

Plz RSVP about the workdays if your able to. Dont hesitate to just drop in but bang real loud since we cannot leave the door open. Enter thru the door on Forest – up the wheel chair ramp.
Thanks so much!
Sarah and FBD

If you have more questions or want to RSVP, email Fender Bender at fenderbenderdetroit (at) gmail (dot) com.

Hope to see ya’ll there,
