Today is the day.
D Lloyd, D Brou, Darrin, Brou Hard or Brou Home…It is Darrin Brouhard’s last day working at The Hub of Detroit.

Darrin managed The Hub of Detroit for the past few years. In his time here he has put his hands on so many bikes. If you have gotten your bike fixed at the Hub of Detroit between 2010 and today…Darrin has probably touched your bike.
Maybe has built your bike, built you a new wheel set, put that rack on it, or just brought it back from death somehow. Darrin used to teach the Adult Mechanic Class at Back Alley Bikes and more recently our Wheel Building Class. So instead of building you that new wheel set, maybe he taught you how to do it yourself. Darrin also facilitated bringing Boy Scouts to come volunteer at Back Alley Bikes (being that Darrin is a Boy Scout himself).
Darrin is the reason that The Hub is painted blue, the counter exists and basically…he redesigned the inside of the shop. Built a lot of it himself too. So the fact that you can enter the bike shop and have room for more than three people to stand there – thank Darrin.
So where is he going? He is making his way over to work for Shinola. Not with bikes though. Darrin is into sewing and is a maker of things. He is gonna do that at Shinola along with launching his own company Detroit Utility Bag. (note=Darrin custom made a backpack for me a few years ago, I’m still using it).
So thanks for adding to Back Alley Bikes/The Hub of Detroit Darrin.
