My awesome friend Shane mentioned this ride to me the other day, and the super sweet route they’re taking around with the Joybox Express is going to stop by the shop on the back end, so if you can’t make it to the ride (information from facebook below), but happen to be in the Corridor Friday afternoon around maybe 3/3:30, maybe swing by the shop and see if you don’t here music by a guy who hauled a piano here on his bike (among others).

More info : The JOYBOX EXPRESS QUARTET will ride 300 miles from Saugatuck to Detroit, hauling their instruments with them. These include a string bass, a drum set, a guitar, and a 352 pound piano.

Come Join us as we meet up with The JOYBOX EXPRESS QUARTET at the DIA where the ride starts.

We will tour the city with them and make some stops to hear them play. This will be a 10 mile ride around Detroit and back to the DIA for the Concert of Colors, where Mr.B’s Joybox Express is schedule to play at 4:30pm

The ride starts at 2:30pm we do ask that you arrive at 2pm to register for the ride. This ride is steady pace ride good for families. Helmets are required for this ride.

The ride is free to the public, MR. B’s JOYBOX EXPRESS is a project designed to raise awareness and funding for groups dedicated to improving the health and well being of children, especially groups providing children access to arts and athletics programs.
