Usually you find some sort of opinion article or some else zany written by me here on Fridays. Well this week got mixed up and I ended up writing an opinion article for this past Monday in hopes of having another profile for you today. I spoke with a few folks interested in participating but didn’t get anything for today. Instead I’m just going to give you a recap of a few things going on.
If you wonder what I’m talking about with this “profile” business, let me fill you in. I’m trying to interview folks in the Hub’s cycling community that don’t fit the Lance Armstrong image of cyclists. Of course there is also the “dirty hippy” image of cyclists as well:
Instead of writing an opinion article about how this drawing bothers me I’m sharing profiles here on the Hub’s website. Like I said, I wanted one for this week but it didn’t happen. But you can check out the first one from last week on Carolyn Leadley (who doesn’t have a beard at all, but still knows about bikes).
I really do have a job here and don’t just update the website with weird stuff. I promise you. One of the things I do is oversee our educational programming. I think we do a pretty good job, but I want to do better every week, month and year. To assist with that I’m beginning to evaluate our programs. You can help with that. If you have ever taken our Adult Mechanic Class you can fill out a survey here. It should only take a few minutes to complete.
Like I said, I had hoped to have another “profile” done today but it didn’t happen so I ended up writing an opinion article this past Monday. I guess I could have just posted it today, but then we wouldn’t have this wrap up post would we?
Finally, one week from today we are having another fund raiser. This one is super cheap and really fun. At Back Alley Bikes we are having a benefit concert. Friday, February 17th – 8pm – $5. Good Times. Check out the flier below:
